Kindle Fire |
Sales of Kindle Fire, the flagship Amazon was reported to decline from 4.8 million in the last quarter of 2011 to less than 750 thousand on 2012. This decrease was revealed through the study of International Data Corporation (IDC), which claims the existence of a sharp decline in shipments of Android-based tablet.
Kindle Fire reported the sharpest decline. Declined from 16.8 percent to just over 4 percent global market share. As a result the Amazon should be in third place, behind Samsung and Apple continues to dominate sales of tablet.
"Apple reaffirmed its dominance in the tablet market this quarter, total control of the shipment. Meanwhile, some vendors Android to see the number of dropped drastically after posting huge profits during the holiday season," said research director of IDC's Mobile Device Connected Tom Mainelli, as quoted from the Telegraph.
Meanwhile, gadget companies such as Samsung and Lenovo, according to IDC, finally began to realize the facts about the Amazon. IDC disclosed, to compete with Apple, the company had to offer their products at a lower price point.
I'm not surprised Kindle's sales have dropped. Even though it's a great tablet, Apple's loyal following and market domination are hard to beat.
